Hi, I'm George, and cooking is in my genes. Both my maternal Grandma and my lovely Dad were fabulous cooks, who loved creating food for us to enjoy together.
I wanted to pass on that love of cooking to my gorgeous son, and to share the recipes for our favourite family meals. As I work as a freelance sales and marketing consultant I decided to create this site for him to use when he's away from home.
Sadly no photo of my son, as Mum's with boys of a certain age will surely understand!
Emily Florence Everson was a wonderfully warm, charismatic woman, who played a big part in my early life. She loved to cook, to entertain and to party - she even had a cream leather, studded bar in her living room!
Emily was an amazing, naturally talented cook, who was keen to share her love of food and of cooking with me. Her Sunday roasts were legendary, and her desserts ranged from traditional fruit pies to beautiful, hazelnut meringue cakes, and everything in between.
My Dad was a larger than life character, who was pretty much loved by everyone who met him. Despite being born in 1932, when men were rarely found in the kitchen, he grew to really enjoy food and cooking.
After retiring, he and my stepmum decided to use that passion for all things food, to raise money for a good cause. So, for a number of years, they ran a dinner party service; cooking in other people's houses, with profits going to the hospice where he volunteered.
Although my Dad was taken from us in 2016, he will always be with me whenever I'm in the kitchen; especially if I'm preparing dinner with a glass of wine in hand...
