This burger doesn't really need a recipe but I've written one anyway! It's the perfect meal for a hot day as it's so quick to put together, unless you want a side of chips of course!
I just love the combination of halloumi, gerkins and chilli jam along with the salad. If available, I try and buy pink choice tomatoes, but any flavourful tomato will do.
Per person
Drizzle of olive oil
80g haloumi
1 medium sized tomato
1 large Dolce Verde or Romaine lettuce hearts leaf
Pickled gerkin slices (to taste)
Few thin slices of red onion
1 tablespoon of chilli jam (more or less to taste)
1 brioche roll
Butter
- Slice the halloumi into ½ cm slices.
- Slice the tomato.
- Cut the lettuce leaf in half or use 2 smaller leaves.
- Thinly slice the red onion.
- Butter the brioche roll.
- Drizzle a little olive oil in the bottom of a frying pan and wipe round with a piece of kitchen roll.
- Place on a medium heat, and once up to temperature, fry the halloumi for 2-3 minutes on each side until it turns golden brown.
- Assemble the ingredients into the burger bun and enjoy!
